Rev. larry D. Smith

 

      Rev. Smith  was born to the late Robert L. and Lois V. Smith on February 23, 1954 in Society Hill, South Carolina. He accepted Christ as his Savior when he was 14 years old. Upon graduation from Rosenwald High School, he immediately enrolled into a two year program at DeVry Institute of Technology in Atlanta Georgia and received his diploma with honors as a Electronics Technician. To further his education, he enrolled into the University of Phoenix and in 2006 received a Bachelor of Science Degree in information Technology, Homeledic and Religion I and II.

      Prior to joining the army, Rev. Smith worked as an electrician. Rev. Smith retired from the Army as a Master Seargent with 26 years of honorable service. During his time in the military, he was awarded the Meritorious Service  Medal, the Defense Service Medal and many more medals of outstanding service. "I praise the Lord for my time in service to my country."

      In 1987, the Lord called him into the ministry and he was licensed to preach at the Gospel Service while stationed in Germany. "The people and team work skills that I learned in the Army are the same skills in which I applied in the Church Ministry. My Commander in Christ is Jesus Christ, and His Word the Holy Bible is the word period!" There he remained vigilant serving the Lord as an Associate Minister for the Gospel Service.

      While in Germany, Rev. Smith became a single parent and had the responsibility of raising his 3 children for over 16 years until they became adults. A few years prior to Army retirement, Rev. Smith went to Darlinton County, S.C. and married his lovely wife and helpmate Alfreda Smith. They have been happily married for 13 years.

     " I love the Lord and I am passionate in serving in his name for the sake of saving souls and brining them into Christ's kingdom."

       Rev. Smith has been in the position and /or overseer of Church Deacon Trainer, Sunday School Teacher, Preacher, Teacher Anger Management Trainer, Marriage Counselor, Prison Ministry, Pastor of the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) Facility and one on one counselor.

        Rev. Smith has served as needed preacher and teacher for the Kino Gospel Service at Fort Huachuca while also serving as the Associate Pastor and Youth Pastor at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.

       In addition, his leadership capabilities has gained him the position of mentoship of over 8 ministers and  deacons at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, a position he highly regards as a true testimonial as to his undying commitment to his faith in Jesus Christ.

       And now as the Lord wills " I serve as Pastor of the Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Huachuca City, Arizona."
